My friend sent me that AI thing this morning - you may or may not have seen it. You open ChatGPT and arrive with your life list of your biggest goals and dreams, and you tell ChatGPT those goals and dreams and you ask it to tell you a story about a day in your future life based on your description of your goals and plans and dreams.
When you put a lot of thought and focus and energy into that list, what comes out the other side IS magical.
(I hear you all out there talking about evil AI... wait for it...)
This is one of the best examples I have ever heard about the power and importance of the imagination.
This only feels like magic in the end if you put a lot of thought and truth and energy into what you put in.
It's like baking a cake with cake mix & oil v. baking one from a great-grandma's recipe with all real ingredients. The second result might not be as 'perfect' as the first, but it will taste better, be more nourishing, and fill a space in your soul.
This AI thing is like that. If you show up with generic, safe, comfortable goals, you will get something pretty good. AI won't create that life for you, or steal anything from anyone to get it, and it will feel okay, but it won't touch your deepest soul.
If you show up to this having really thought about it and wondering about it, and being deeply honest about what you want, you will feel like the result was MAGICAL.
What you show up with; what you put in, how honest and imaginative and truly delighted you are by your own dreams is what MAKES the magic happen.
Clarity won't come from a single book or a course, it will come from you being honest with yourself over and over and over again.
Not AI.
Mark and I were reminiscing today about life in the UK. I was talking about a vintage jewellers in Exeter where we bought our wedding rings (and where I still dream of buying a deco ring), and we googled the shop to remember its name. From there, we virtually wandered around Exeter until we came to another business, and from THERE we spun out into dreaming of interiors and building and finally finally after a lot of years, we 'saw' what we want to do to finish our house (and build our other dream space).
It only happened because we have both been doing work on ourselves, because we have talked before about what we wanted and never quite got there, because I have gotten SO CLEAR on what I truly love and who I truly am, and because he has improved his carpentry skills and gotten clearer on who he is and what he wants here.
From there we could meet this morning over coffee and dream into a vision that utterly delights both of us.
AI couldn't have told me about this moment in its future. But now I have a gorgeous true, authentic, delightful vision to put into the program.
We couldn't have rushed this dream, but we always knew it was coming.
In The Princess Bride, Miracle Max says, “Don’t rush me, sonny. You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles.”
Magic - true magic - comes from showing up for ourselves and doing the work to get clearer and clearer; to be honest enough to arrive at conversations & moments with a whole lot less baggage and unconscious or conscious 'no's'. It comes from knowing ourselves.
It takes time. Honesty. Growing clarity.
Then it doesn't matter if the spell is cast in a journal or in AI or in a circle with a bunch of witches, the spell will come straight from your imagination and it will be all the more powerful because of it. It will be true for you that you will think magic happened.
Show up. Have faith that every day you are getting clearer and clearer and your true goals and dreams are too.
Don't rush the magic. Be the magic.

I LOVE this use of AI. I feel like it should definitely be used to help us dream, and dream BIG!
I use the prompts to dream big! There is magic in the exchange, and good energy in = good energy out. There are worlds at our fingertips that we have yet to define, and that discovery process is scintillating. Great post!
