Right now I am in London. I am sitting on my friend Susannah’s guest bed, feeling somehow out of space and time because I have just finished leading a really magical and successful retreat in gorgeous and very sunny Bath. Every bit of this moment can be traced back to the day that I nervously clicked publish on my very first blog post back in 2006. Back then the online world was quite different. Nobody was really selling anything (well, one person was selling painted rocks and there were a few Etsy shops), and everyone had the time and the attention to not only write long posts but also to read and comment on everyone else’s long posts.
“We wrote to really connect and to feel less alone in our weirdness. We wrote for the sheer joy of writing.” This beautifully describes my memory of those early days of blogging. I loved it too. It’s where friendships were forged and magic was shared across space and time (including ours) you’ve inspired me to return to it here. ✨
I’m so with you on this Meghan! The day I created a blog I exploded with pure joy. Being able to combine words with beautiful photos or art and the ease of sharing links to incredible discoveries on line was so magical! Being here feels really magically good again.
"...words are spells, writing is magic, and that we are more powerful than we can possibly imagine." I absolutely love this sentiment. And agree, wholeheartedly. Thank you!
Oh My Heart! "My underlying self has always been wildly curious. I love the bonkers, and I have a tendency to believe in anything. But there is one thing that I believe with my whole heart: that words are spells, writing is magic, and that we are more powerful than we can possibly imagine." This! This right here....you have spoken aloud my soul's self!
I am so delighted to see the return of the blog! I have played at my own blog, a personal story aimed at holding the memories of my children and grandchildren lives so they may always return and know how deeply loved they are. Recently I decided to branch out and share my inner self and thoughts, because words are magic and they are asking to be freed from within me.
So thrilled to have discovered your beautiful blog!

Thank you for sharing your magical words!
I love how this one seemingly tiny decision to publish this one post years ago has led you here. :)
